There are 4-6 days each year when the sun sets directly through the Woods Hole Passage (that's the winding, rock strewn, crazy-current path between Nantucket Sound and Buzzards Bay). A couple of them are in the spring, and the rest are in autumn. On the right you can see the "Airplane" house on Juniper Point, on the left a little corner of Nonamesset island called Mink Point. Beyond it, on the left, not quite blocking the sun, is Timmy Point on Uncatena Island. And way over there on the other side is the Mouth of New Bedford Harbor. Curiously there is no place along Buzzards Bay where one has a completely unobstructed view of the horizon.
