Every Monday evening from 7-8 I count herring in the Coonamessett River in East Falmouth. The unseasonably cold weather has the fish rather confused, and so I photograph the river and meadow environment in between my 10 minute counts. Thus far, there are been no fish on my shift. The fish get the story here, and mostly travel at night. Spring is slowly springing, however, and the cattails are greening up.
