Coming home one day in the spring of 1999 I noticed a train car on the siding in North Falmouth. It was a passenger car, just sitting there for no obvious reason. Over the next couple of months the reason revealed itself. Captain Robert S. Douglas, of Black Dog fame, had purchased the car to take to Vineyard Haven for part of his growing business there.
For a couple weeks I watched the process of preparing the car for its trip to the ferry in Woods Hole. You can see it here.
